Q: Whom do I make my check out to? Where do I send my check?
A: Please make your checks payable to the Orlando Scramble for Kids. Checks can be mailed to the following PO Box:
Orlando Scramble for Kids
P.O. Box 568507
Orlando, Florida 32856-8507
Q: What if I am a single golfer?
A: We encourage any golfers (even singles) without a full team to participate in the Orlando Scramble for Kids golf event because it is an excellent opportunity to network with Greater Orlando community leaders while helping a great cause. Simply let us know when registering (either online or via the OSFK registration form) that you prefer to be placed on a team, and we will make it happen.
Q: What is the dress code for the event?
A: You must wear a collared shirt with either slacks or shorts. The Grand Cypress Golf Club is a “spikeless facility”. If you have shoes w/spikes, the staff at the club would be happy to change them out for you at no charge. The locker room will be available to all participants if you choose to “freshen-up” following golf – all after round festivities are casual as well.
Q: What if I am not a golfer?
A: The Orlando Scramble for Kids is a “non-golfer friendly” tournament. We welcome all community leaders to participate in the Scramble in any of the following ways:
Become a Scramble sponsor (see “Sponsor a Hole”, “Donations” or “Corporate Sponsorship” tabs). The Scramble has ultimately been created to give to the Children’s Miracle Network of Greater Orlando – and by sponsoring the event you are making a large impact on this overall objective.
Attend the Dinner and Awards Ceremony. The Dinner and Awards Ceremony is $50 per non-golfer: Dinner and access to the Silent / Live Auctions are included.
Become a volunteer (see “Contact Us” tab). Several aspects of the tournament require the help of volunteers.
Q: What is the Silent and Live Auction?
A: The Silent Auction is a collection of items (see “Bid for Prizes” tab) that you can bid on for purchase the day of the event. To bid on the items simply write your name and a bid on the sheet in front of the auction item. Each participant has the opportunity to “out bid” you by writing in a higher price for the Silent Auction item. All Silent Auction items will have a minimum bid and a minimum incremental bid. The Silent Auction will close during the Awards Ceremony, and the highest bidder will pay the CMN volunteer their bid for the item. Cash, personal check or major credit cards are acceptable means of payment.
The Live Auction is a collection of items that you can bid on LIVE during the Awards Ceremony. An auctioneer will present the items to the participants and begin / close the bidding in true auctioneer form. The Live Auction items are the finest auction offering to bid on at the tournament.
Q: What are examples of Auction items available to bid on?
A: Examples of bid items include Footballs signed by Florida Head Coach Urban Meyer and FSU Head Coach Bobby Bowden, multiple-night stays at The Ritz-Carlton Hotels in the following locations: Amelia Island, Atlanta, Marina del Rey (Los Angeles), and Pasadena; single-night stays and Sunday Brunch at The Peabody Orlando and a Luau for four (4) Guests at The Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando (see “Bid for Prizes” tab for more information.)
Q: What if I don’t have a handicap?
A: The tournament is a “flighted” tournament, and a handicap is not necessary. All levels of golfers are able to win a flight of the tournament as there is an overall “Champions” winning team – that team that shoots lowest team score for the tournament; an “A Flight” winning team – determined to be the team that scores atop the 2nd tier of scores; and a “B Flight” winning team – determined to be the team that scores atop the 3rd tier of scores.
Q: Is my contribution tax-deductible?
A: Contributions (including tournament entry fees, sponsorships, donations and purchased auction items) to the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) are tax deductible to the full extent provided by law. For your tax purposes, CMN’s Federal Tax number is 59-3452974.
A copy of the official registration and financial information for CMN may be obtained from the State’s Division of Consumer Services by calling toll-free 1-800-435-7352 within the State of Florida. The registration number for the Greater Orlando Children’s Miracle Network is: SC-08062.
